Our Beach


At Rockaway, there are 7 miles of beach, wide open and ready to explore, with more than 31 public access points sprinkled throughout town.

Bring the kids, bring the dogs. You can fly a kite, go beachcombing, watch for whales, take a walk or just relax — the perfect getaway on the coast whether you visit for the day or opt for a vacation rental.

Putting your toes in the sand


There are more than 20 different points from which you can access the broad sands of Rockaway Beach. Generally, these are at the west ends of east-west streets. Some access points are formally marked; some aren’t. Some have parking; some don’t. For the areas without parking, you may still be able to find a spot on the street, but be careful not to block roads or driveways.

It’s easy to get to the beach. There are many free, public access points from which to reach the surf and sand. Click on the link above and claim a favorite spot on the beach.
